The Comprehensive Consultation Process

  1. Request. The Consultation request must come from the senior pastor.
  2. Initial Interview. Informal discussion between the pastor and consultation to explore the consultation process and options.
  3. Contractual Agreement. Upon request, the consultant will then prepare an initial written agreement detailing responsibilities of both the consultant and the church during a specified timeline for the consultation process. The consultation fee structure will also be included. When finalized it will be signed by both parties before the process begins.
  4. Preliminary Information Required for a Comprehensive Consultation.
    • Demographics
    • Statistical Data
    • Church Health Survey
    • Initial analysis completed prior to on-site visit
  5. On-Site Visit. The on-site visit will include individual interviews, a facilities tour, a community tour, observation of programs/ministries/worship service, community interviews, and a preliminary verbal report to the leadership.
  6. Written Report. The first draft of the written report will be sent to the pastor and will include the Church Health Survey results. A final report will be submitted as agreed upon by the consultant and the pastor.
  7. Formal Presentation. The process of presentation to the church will be agreed upon in advance and will include a proposal for future action.
  8. Follow-up. To be agreed upon if requested by the pastor.
