While in Texas Dillard served as Church Health Consultant for the Southern Baptists of Texas state convention from 2008 -2010. Breakthrough Church Consultations relocated from Texas to Cumming, Georgia in January 2011.

Dillard has served for more than 35 years in the local church. He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and recipient of the 2006 Distinguished Service Award from the faculty.

Staff experience includes Minister of Education: First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Georgia, Roswell Street Baptist Church, Marietta, Georgia, First Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, and interim Minister of Education at First Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. Additionally, he served for ten years as Minister of Education/Ministry Coordinator at Travis Avenue Baptist Church, Ft. Worth, Texas.
